LONGi Solar supplies monocrystalline modules across four series: LR4, LR5, LR7 and LR8. The range in stock runs from 410 to 655 W with efficiency between 20.7% and 24.2%. The residential formats on 96 and 108 half-cells (1722×1134, 1762×1134 and 1800×1134 mm, 20.8–23 kg) suit house roofs. The large 132- and 144-cell modules (2278×1134 and 2382×1134 mm, up to 33.5 kg) belong on ground mounts and commercial arrays.

Bifacial models carry the HGD, HTD, HYD and HVD index: glass on the rear face instead of backsheet, which is why the 144-cell units weigh 31.8–33.5 kg against 27–28.5 kg for a monofacial panel of the same rating. The rear-side gain is real over light gravel, white membrane roofs and ground mounts; on a pitched roof mounted flush to the covering it is close to nothing.

Open-circuit voltage across the range runs from 34.8 to 54.7 V and current at maximum power point from 10.85 to 15.94 A. String design starts with those two figures. Multiply Voc by the number of modules and check it against the inverter maximum input voltage. Then check the current against the MPPT input limit before paralleling strings.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many LONGi panels make up 10 kW?

Seventeen 600 W modules (LR5-72HTH-600M) give 10.2 kW; sixteen 650 W units (LR7-72HVH-650M) give 10.4 kW. Allowing for oversizing, a 10 kW inverter is usually paired with 17–22 modules. In the compact 108-cell format at 440–485 W the same 10 kW takes 21–23 panels, but each weighs only 20.8–21.6 kg and is easier to handle on a broken-up roof.

What is the difference between the LR5, LR7 and LR8 series?

LR5 covers 410–600 W at 21.0–23.2% efficiency and is the widest line we stock (23 models). LR7 covers 455–650 W with efficiency up to 24.1%, in 1800×1134 (108 cells) and 2382×1134 (144 cells) formats. LR8 is a fully bifacial line, 440–655 W, up to 24.2% efficiency, with rear glass. One LR4 model at 450 W remains from the previous generation, 2094×1038×35 mm.

Which LONGi panels are bifacial?

The HGD, HTD, HYD and HVD indices mark bifacial modules: the entire LR8 series (440–655 W) plus LR5-72HGD, LR5-72HTD, LR7-72HGD and LR7-72HYD — 17 of the 50 items in stock. A bifacial panel is heavier because of the second sheet of glass, so check the load rating of your mounting structure. It pays off only where there is something to reflect underneath: a ground mount or a flat light-coloured roof.

How do I size a string?

Across the stocked range Voc runs from 34.8 V (LR8-48HGD-440M, 96 cells) to 54.7 V (LR8-66HGD-620M). Multiply the Voc of your chosen model by the number of modules and allow headroom for cold weather, where voltage rises by roughly 10% above the datasheet figure. Compare the result with the inverter maximum input voltage, not with the MPPT operating window — those are two different limits.

Can different LONGi models be mixed in one array?

Not within a single string. Series-connected modules run at the lowest current in the string: LR5-72HPH-550M delivers 13.12 A and LR7-72HVH-650M 14.59 A, so the difference is simply lost. Different models are fine on separate MPPT inputs or on separate strings of matched configuration. Within one string, keep the same model, orientation and tilt angle.
